This Sunday, January 8th will be our annual Mission Point Congregational Workshop. Church will begin at 10am. We will review the year ahead and discuss our goals as a church. While this is not a visitor oriented Sunday, we will be having Kid’s Kingdom during the workshop. Pray for an awesome time of Bible Study, prayer, and fellowship.

“Bring Your Neighbor Day” A Huge Success

Bring Your Neighbor day was a huge success last week. Roughly 850 attended, making it the largest service we have had in over a decade. The food, singing, sermon and communion all went well. Folks stayed around for lunch and fellowship. Thank you to all who helped out in whatever capacity, including the chairs, food, music, AV, and every other volunteer. Thanks also to the “Nelsons” for their musical performance, as well as Rhett and Art and the new church band.
Funeral Arrangements

Felix and Emma Tijerina’s daughter-in-law, Veronica, passed away this week. The viewing is Friday night from 5-7pm at Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl, 78239. The funeral mass will be held at 11am on Saturday at St. Thomas More Church, 4411 Moana, 78218. About 30 minutes after the mass, there will be a wake at the VFW at 2222 Austin Highway. Felix said there was no need to bring food for the wake as it had already been provided. Please be praying for the comfort and encouragement of the family.

Midweek service will be at Raymond Russell Park this Saturday as we donate school supplies and meet the families from Families Especial. We begin at 10am. Lunch is provided. Check with your Bible Talk leader about what to bring.

The city is just recovering from a civil war, and Hervé will have a lot of news. Cameron Blakely will preach. Cam is just back from the Int’l Campus Conference in Colorado. John and Karen Louis will be visiting with us this Sunday. They lead our Singapore Congregation, and John will be our guest speaker for the day. The campus group will be in Colorado at the Campus Conference, but the rest of the church can also look forward to hearing a very dynamic message this Sunday.
Wednesday night will be a congregational midweek at Norris. We will be having a family movie night at 7:30pm. Come ready to enjoy the film and the fellowship.

Thank You for the Prayers

Jency/mom had a terrible weekend, though she is doing much better today. Her potassium and sodium levels got very low, and she became faint and could not stand. This was of course very stressful, and we took her into the hospital Sunday morning. She is much better today, steady and on her feet more, talking and back moving around a bit, and will go home today or tomorrow. Thanks to all for the prayers. Liver cancer is very serious, and we are advised by our doctor to have mom get hospice care soon. She will continue to be at home, but will get a nurse a few hours each day. Mom is certainly not giving up the fight, but rather we just want to make sure mom receives all the care and help she can from medicare.
