  • March to Feed the Hungry Food Drive:

For the entire month of march, we will be collecting food to help the San Antonio Food Bank.  There are 3 ways you can help:

  1. As you do your grocery shopping, please add one or two of the “most needed food items” listed below to your cart. You can them bring them to church on Sunday or Wednesday.

(Most needed food items: peanut butter, cereal, tuna, rice, macaroni and cheese, chili, canned stews, canned soups, canned luncheon meats, full meals in a can or box, “pop top” food items).

  1. “Go High-Tech”.  It’s fun, it’s easy and a great way for you and your friends to participate. Just copy and paste this link: http://vad.aidmatrix.org/vadxml.cfm?driveid=6192 and sent it to all your face book friends.  They can just follow the instructions and purchase any of the items and it will be automatically delivered to the San Antonio Food Bank.  Ask your friends to do the same.
  2. Go meet your neighbors and ask them to help you feed the hungry in San Antonio.  You will be surprised how receptive people are to the idea.  There is a flyer on the church web site that can be printed.
  3. Let’s really make a difference! Let’s see if we can provide 5 thousand pounds of food to feed the hungry in San Antonio.
  • Our Easter Sunday Service will be held downtown at the Villita Assembly Building.  Our worship time is 10:00am.  The kids’ program will consist of children six months to kindergarten.  All children first grade and up will be in the main service.  Parking tickets for the CPS parking lot will be available at $4 each.  Tickets will be available for purchase on Wednesday, during midweek.  Maps are available at the welcome table.
  • The 2012 World Discipleship Conference is quickly approaching.  The deadline for normal registration prices is March 31st.  On April 1st, the price for each conference will increase by $25 including the Teen Conference.  So, save money now by registering by March 31st.  So far, San Antonio has 195 people registered for the conference (including children & teens).  We also have about 80 volunteers registered from San Antonio.  We will continue signing up volunteers for the conference.  Please complete a volunteer application and give it Melanie Walls.
  • Save the Date for a Date Night!  In an effort to raise funds, the Ballet Folklorico Troupe is offering to provide childcare on Saturday, March 31st from 6:30-9:30 pm for a fee.  This is a great opportunity to enjoy time with your spouse or special other and support our fundraiser. Please sign up after the church services with Karen Moss or call her at (217) 417-6189.
  • Mission Point’s west side Financial Peace University class will begin Sunday, 1 April — no joke!  All those interested in attending the class are encouraged to check out a free preview today at 3pm at Ryan Hoke’s house.  If you need directions, please call him at (210) 363-6259 or get with him after the service.
  • Today will be the last Sunday to pick up contribution receipts. They will be mailed to you upon request.  Please see Trudy Mencke in the back of the ballroom after service.

  •  Financial Peace University:  You may have already given up on shedding a few pounds, but there’s still plenty of time to shed a few bills.  Mission Point is looking to start another Financial Peace University class on the west side of town, and both church members and guests are welcome to attend.  We are also looking for someone that would be willing to host the class in their house.  To get things started, we plan to offer a one hour preview on Sunday, 11 March.  So, if you’re interested in attending the class, hosting the class or both, please get with Ryan Hoke or Karen Moss in the back of the auditorium immediately after the service.  And please make sure you make it a priority because slots will be limited.
  •  We will continue signing up volunteers for the conference after service in the back of the ballroom.  Please complete a volunteer application and turn it in to Pam Dominguez.
  • Our lost and found collection has grown tremendously.  If you have left or misplaced any items at Norris, please contact Kent Washington at (210) 528-8266.  All books that are stored in the lost and found bin will soon be donated to the book table.  All other personal items will be donated elsewhere.

  • Carlos Villatoro is offering to pick up any old metals, (aluminum, iron, etc.) or appliances of all kind that people want to get rid of (i.e. lawnmowers, barbeque grills, stoves, etc).
